The ‘Namami Devi Narmade’ – is a campaign, conceived and coordinated by the Government of Madhya Pradesh as a people’s movement to protect the environment, protect sanctity of the Narmada River and maintains it as a source of clean pollution free water. The campaign aspires to bring into focus the need to conserve our rivers to protect our lives. In the coming year a huge plantation activity is planned at bank of river and with-in one km buffer to promote organic farming, soil and water conservation and afforestation. This plantation activity will be carried out by the farmers in their private land and government departments, local body, civil societies etc can do in government land. Government will give Rs 20000/- per hectare for 3 years as a subsidy to the farmers who will do plantation in their private land to protect their livelihood. To run the whole programme smooth and hassle free ICT based interventions are envisaged in the areas related to Farmer Registration, Workflow Automation, Direct Benefit Transfer, Farmer Support System, Market Linkage, Baseline Study and Impact Evaluation are key focus area identified for ICT interventions. These interventions are combination of various technologies like Web, Mobile, GIS and Remote Sensing.
